Gunnar Menzel
Born 1975 in Bad Saarow, East Germany, spending most of his life in Berlin. He studied photography in Austria (PFSÖ) focusing on portraiture and landscape photography. He lives and works in Munich since 2014.
Gunnar Menzel is a commercial freelance photographer. His primary focus is on people photography specializing in portraitures and editorials.
Gunnar’s art portfolio is very different to his commercial assignments. Imperfection, pictures driven by a film noir type of story- telling merging strong graphical elements and enigmatic portraits. On the other side, large landscapes, beautiful and quiet, in stark contrast to his dark and disturbing black and white work. With every project, Gunnar tries to push himself out of his own comfort zone into a less perfect world.
